From 18th to 20th July, “Seoul Of the Party” at Mondrian Singapore Duxton is all about the best things to do when the temperature heats up: eating, imbibing, or floating in blue waters. And sometimes, all three at one go.

According to most social media captions when one goes to Seoul, the capital has soul — and a lot of it in spades. But if you’re skipping out this summer and planning to play in a sandbox closer to home, then Mondrian Singapore Duxton’s “Seoul Of the Party” comes close to what you can expect from a holiday there. It features a 4-hands dinner with the full flavour bomb of Korean and Italian cuisine (fun fact: Korean supermarkets only offer Italian spaghetti), a bar takeover using a soju brand supped by celebrities, and a pool party with K-Pop beats (swole or not, everybody loves So-Maek.)

What to expect at “Seoul Of the Party” at Mondrian Singapore Duxton

A 4-hands dinner with Chef Choi Hyun-Seok and Chef Kenny Huang at Bottega Di Carna

When the temperature rises, make sure you're Mondrian Duxton Singapore's "Seoul Of the Party"
At Bottega di Carna, Chef Huang pairs up with Chef Choi of Choi Dot in Seoul to present a 6-course menu — SGD 250 or SGD 368 including wine pairing— a flavour bomb of Korean and Italian flavours. Some include Choi’s Ganjang Gyejang (raw marinated crab) and his take on the traditional ginseng chicken soup Samgyetang.  “I am very happy to have the opportunity to present my dishes in Singapore, a city of gastronomy. I think the contemporary and exotic Mondrian Singapore Duxton and my dishes go well together. My team will prepare creative Korean cuisine and present a perfect night for guests who join us at Bottega di Carna.” shares Choi. The dinner has two sessions — 18th and 19th July — with both starting at 6 pm.

Chef Choice’s favourites at Christina’s Duxton

Are you aware that Christina’s is the new place to see-and-be-seen? Are you also aware that Chef Choi has shared three of his favourite dishes — crispy fried eggplant with a sweet and spicy Eo-hyang mayo sauce, Burrata with a fresh yuzu sauce and Chef Choi’s signature pasta, a cold capellini with abalone, Korean seaweed and perilla oil — for just a month at the celebrity cafeteria? Specially created cocktails are also available using KHEE Soju, a spirit brand started by Eva Chow who’s also known as the Culture Queen of Los Angeles.

A Korean bar takeover by Gong Gan at Jungle Ballroom

For one night only on 18th July, imbibe concoctions shaken by a Seoul cocktail star (Willy Park from Gong Gan) with a base using KHEE Soju. If you need one more reason to hand down, KHEE Soju contains no artificial additives and is gluten-free. And according to urban legend, also leaves you waking up sans hangover the next morning.

A Korean summer pool party at Canyon Club

Hosted on 20th July from 4 pm to a respectable 11 pm, the party at Canyon Club has all the staples of a summer one: Food fried to crisp perfection (there’s Korean fried chicken with rice cakes, and corn dogs), music that can be hummed by the general population (K-Pop tracks, obviously), and a cocktail served in a watermelon shell.
