If there is one thing that South Korean entertainment does right, it’s in showering their fans across Asia with plenty of opportunities to catch them performing in person. In Malaysia alone, some of the industry’s biggest acts including IU and Super Junior are expected to host major shows on local shores, a trend which Argentine-born American singer-songwriter eaJ aka Jae Park, is set to up with his latest tour announcement.

As shared to his Instagram earlier this afternoon, the former member of South Korean pop rock band Day6 released a slew of dates across two weeks that will form the itinerary for the Asian leg of his upcoming When The Rain Stopped Following Me Tour. The inaugural concert is expected to kick off on September 1st in Manila’s SM North EDSA Skydome, before moving to neighbouring Jakarta  on the 4th of the same month.

Bangkok will be next to follow on the 6th, with Malaysia serving as the fourth stop on the 8th where Park is set to take the stage at Zepp Kuala Lumpur. Ticket details for his Malaysian show have yet to be released. This precedes another set of two concerts in Singapore and Tokyo respectively, before he closes out in Seoul for two evenings.

This will mark Park’s second performance in Malaysia, following his earlier debut at the SUPALUPA festival in March of this year.

Born in Buenos Aires, Park first gained prominence online for uploading song covers online on his YouTube channel ‘YellowPostItMan’ as a hobby, which gained noteworthy attention among industry fans for his unexpected vocal prowess. Bolstered by the encouraging response he received with his nascent efforts, he took a leap of faith and put his studies at the California State University on hold to participate in the first season of the SBS talent scouting reality TV show K-Pop Star as a singer-guitarist.

While he may have only peaked at sixth place, the show provided him with the necessary platform for exposure, bagging him a contract with Jay Park Entertainment (JYP Entertainment) to join as a trainee for an upcoming boy band project that would later become Day6. Debuting in 2015, he would become one of the band’s most recognisable members for his combination of guitar skills and singing talent.

After launching four albums with the band, he announced his departure in 2021 to pursue a solo career under the stage name eaJ. To that end, he made his first debut as an artist by headlining at the Head In The Clouds Festival back in 2022, with an Asian tour following shortly after. Since February of last year, he released three EPs: Laughing in Insomnia, Smiling in Insomnia, and Medicated Insomnia.
