Get ready for Training Season and to Levitate in excitement as British-Albanian pop sensation Dua Lipa has officially confirmed that she will be bringing her latest Radical Optimism World Tour concert to Malaysia this year!

The 28-year-old hitmaker has come quite a considerable way since her debut in 2017 with the single New Love. Buoyed by the success of her latest album Radical Optimism and three Grammy awards under her belt, it is clear that Dua Lipa is leading the charge for a new generation of pop royalty. And Malaysian fans will now get to Dance The Night away when she touches down in November.

Dua Lipa confirms concert in Malaysia this November

News on the latest slew of dates as part of the Asian leg of her world tour was announced earlier today over the singer’s official Instagram, and is expected to kick off with her first show in Singapore on the 6th of November at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. Subsequent performances will follow in Jakarta, Manila, Tokyo, and Taipei, before she arrives on Malaysian shores on the 23rd. Lipa will close out her tour of Asia in Seoul.

Her Kuala Lumpur performance will be staged at the Axiata Arena, with LiveNation’s ticket presale expected to take place on June 10th (Monday) at 11.59pm sharp. General ticket sales will take place on June 11th from 11am onwards. Tickets can be bought exclusively through GoLive Asia’s website.

This will be Dua Lipa’s third concert tour since her previous Future Nostalgia Tour, while also marking her return to Malaysia after visiting for the first time back in 2017 for the Good Vibes Festival, and a second time in 2018.

A modern pop goddess in the making

Born in London to Kosovo Albanian parents, Lipa is the eldest of three children and was first influenced to pursue an interest in music by her father, the lead singer of Albanian rock band Oda. This would set her on a path familiar to many teens of the period when she uploaded amateur recordings of her own songs and covers to SoundCloud and YouTube.

Her first foray into entertainment was as a model, but it wouldn’t be long before her musical talents were scouted by Warner Bros. Records, who offered her a record deal in 2014. This would provide the nascent singer with the necessary resources to debut her first single, New Love, which debuted at number 1 on several European charts.

Several commercially successful singles paved the way for the eventual release of her first self-titled studio album, which also contained one of her most successful songs to date, New Rules, in 2017. In the blink of an eye, Dua Lipa became a global sensation as the most streamed woman on Spotify that year and nabbed the award for British Female Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Act at the 2018 BRIT Awards.

Subsequent collaborations with Calvin Harris and Blackpink also resulted in highly successful singles in their own right before her second studio album, Future Nostalgia, was released in March 2020 with the debut of its lead track, Don’t Start Now. The album contained equally successful singles Physical and Levitating, all of which have since become hallmark songs for the singer.

Her work extended into acting when she starred in a cameo role on Greta Gerwig’s Barbie, whose title track Dance The Night was also recorded by the 28-year-old. Her latest musical output, Radical Optimism, was launched in May of this year with lead singles Houdini and Training Season.
