Mirzapur season 3 (2018-), Amazon Prime’s hit vehicle, dropped on 5 July. This much-awaited series centring on the crime, power, blood and gore in the hinterlands of Uttar Pradesh has earned a cult status for its apt casting, intense performances and captivating storytelling. Every character displays peculiar traits — from the ‘King of Mirzapur’s Kaleen Bhaiya brilliantly played by Pankaj Tripathi to his arch nemesis Guddu Tripathi, played by Ali Fazal. Aries – Guddu Pandit
Brawn, muscle power and a penchant for mindless violence set the premise for the characterisation of one of the main characters of the web series: Guddu Bhaiya. The main reason why he could be categorised as the cardinal fire sign, Aries, is because of his impulsive nature and an insatiable hunger for power. Aries is the baby of the zodiac, and looking at the personality traits of Guddu, he often displays a childlike innocence in his dealings despite his aggressive nature.

Gemini – Shatrughan Tyagi (Chotte)
Bharat and Shatrughan Tyagi are twins played by the talented Vijay Varma. In Mirzapur season 3, it is revealed that Badde (Bharat) is dead while Chotte (Shatrughan) is living his life. Chotte is caught in constant turmoil to choose between love and responsibility, family and power. These traits display duality, which is a classic feature of this mutable air sign. They often seem to be confused and bustling with new ideas to implement. Shatrughan’s impatience and feeling of being stuck in his life situation make him a classic Gemini.
Cancer – Gajgamini Gupta (Golu)
The voice of reason behind Guddu’s impulsive behaviour, Gajgmaini or Golu (played by Shweta Tripathi Sharma) seems to be soft-hearted and calm; but once she has made a resolve, she can turn into a brutal protector for his family and friends. Golu turns to a life of crime to avenge the death of her sister in the previous season and continues to protect Guddu who marches along the path of destruction.
Leo – Munna Tripathi
Munna, played by Divyendu Sharma, is one of the most misunderstood characters in the series. Guddu kills him in the finale of the second season only to usurp his legacy as the next don of Mirzapur. Born to rule, Munna is a typical Leo. Like this fixed fire sign, he loves a fan following around him. He is overly loving and indulgent towards those who manage to gain his trust and can go the distance for them. Case in point here is his relationship with his wife Madhuri Yadav, which blossomed because of these qualities.
Virgo – Dimpy Pandit
Virtuous and hardworking, Dimpy Pandit played by Harshita Shekhar Gaur, is Guddu’s sister who is seen as an honest person trying to survive in a world full of crime. Her grounded nature is an ideal feature of this mutable earth sign which loves being practical and detail-oriented. Her goal in Mirzapur season 3 is to fight the case for his father who is behind bars and works hard for her family’s future.
Libra – Beena Tripathi
Charming, beautiful and highly tactful, the main features of a Libran match perfectly well with Beena Tripathi, the role essayed by Rasika Dugal. Symbolised by a weighing scale, this sign does not like to directly confront its opponents but plays mind games and handles the matter diplomatically.

Madhuri Yadav has a much bigger role in Mirzapur season 3 which allows us to delve deep into her character. Scorpio is an intense, passionate and intuitive water sign known to take its own sweet time to strike its enemies when they least expect it. They are also intelligent and manipulative, qualities that Purvanchal’s chief minister is adept with.

Robin, who is engaged to Dimpy, displays a quirky, vivacious persona which is akin to the traits of this adventurous fire sign.
