Headlined by Neena Gupta as Pradhan Ji Manju Devi, Raghubir Yadav as Pradhan-Pati Brijbhushan Dubey and Jitendra Kumar as Abhishek Tripathi, the Amazon Prime series is loved for its unique storytelling, superb characterisation, punch lines and fresh humour. In the Panchayat series, Damyanti, brilliantly essayed by Abha Sharma, is the most entertaining, ambitious and straightforward person in the village. Like this mutable fire sign which does not take a no for an answer, Amma ji keeps up her schemes to illegally acquire a house through a government scheme and is relentless in her pursuit.
