Azrel Ismail visits the sole Giorgio Armani outlet in Malaysia to discover its many offerings.

When the Exchange TRX mall opened its doors to the public last November, it brought with it a shopping frenzy. Tourists and locals alike eagerly made their way to the highly anticipated shopping destination of Malaysia.

Giorgio Armani was one such location. Situated on the ground floor next to the drop-off foyer, the outlet is a welcome sight for fashionistas.

As the one and only outlet in Malaysia, the boutique’s facade and interior has been crafted by the Armani team to stand out. With its marbled details on the floors and casa furnishing, the standalone boutique expresses the luxury house’s sophistication in a subtle way.

To understand more of what Giorgio Armani’s new outlet had to offer, Azrel Ismail was invited to explore the store firsthand. Within the 3,928 sq ft space, one can easily distinguish two halves which are dedicated sections of the women’s and men’s collections.

Over at the men’s section, Giorgio Armani’s Spring/Summer 2024 Men’s collection occupy the racks. The latest collection references styles that were first introduced by Giorgio Armani in 1975.

A once radical concept turned into a revolutionary genius in design language, the new collection features familiar silhouettes that are timelessly dapper. Azrel was fitted with two runway looks from the collection including look 73 and look 38.

The charming collection plays with the beauty of light and darkness. It starts by showcasing more light, warm beige tones that mimic the sandy beach on a hot summer day. Slowly, it fades into the soft darkness of the night with serene navy blues and white.

Lightweight, soft and flowy to the touch, the choice of materials used in the collection perfectly expresses a sense of fluidity in the designs. Out of the array of clothing displayed, Azrel chose the ASV stretch-viscose jacquard-jersey crew-neck jumper as his favourite piece from the collection. For accessories, the actor went with a classic wallet in a light brown shade.

The Ultimate Luxury Menswear Experience

After exploring the outer section of the boutique, Azrel ventured deeper to discover one of Giorgio Armani’s most celebrated tailoring services – the Made to Measure (MTM) Collection.

A relatively new programme, the MTM collection aims to provide gentlemen with a bespoke custom-tailoring experience. It’s suitable for those who would like to give their Giorgio Armani pieces a little alteration and fixing up. What’s interesting to note that even denim clothes have a place here, and their alteration is high in demand as well.

The consultation process starts with the choice of silhouette, specifying every detail including the type of lapel, pocket positions, single or double-breasted fastening, and pleated or non-pleated trousers and more.

After that’s settled, you will be introduced to the Italian Maison’s extensive array of materials to choose from including the fabrics, linings and detailing.

To accommodate to every man’s busy schedule, customers are measured in-store. Once the measurements are taken, the information will be sent all the way to the manufacturing site in Italy, where the magical work of Armani begins.

Using the highest quality of fabrics and materials, the final garment is revealed to be unique, exclusive with a personalised touch. The suit can be collected in-store or be delivered to homes or even the office for convenience.

While the new Armani boutique at the Exchange TRX is guaranteed as a luxury rarity for the gentlemen, it is also the only one in Southeast Asia to house some of its exclusive jewellery pieces for the ladies, and is an ideal place for couples to explore their own luxury fashion desires as well.
