The PlayStation 5 community is abuzz with excitement over the announcement of Concord, Sony’s latest game. As a PS5 exclusive, this game aims to leverage the full potential of the console’s hardware, offering players an immersive and visually stunning experience.
Concord is a first-person hero-shooter game that promises to deliver a unique PVP experience to all the PlayStation fans out there. It is no doubt one of the most anticipated games of 2024.
Developed by Firewalk Studios, Concord would be the second multiplayer game released exclusively for PlayStation 5 after Helldivers 2. Given the latter’s success, one can expect Concord to be a hit too. But will it be as successful as other PlayStation 5 exclusives such as Marvel’s Spider-Man 2? We will have to wait and see.
For those eagerly waiting to know what the Concord game has to offer, recent trailers and details revealed by the developers have provided a tantalising look. Let’s discuss all we know about Concord, a game exclusively coming to PlayStation 5.
Concord, as mentioned above, is a first-person hero shooter. This sci-fi game will feature various alien characters with unique abilities, ranging from long legs that allow you to jump high to diamond skin that will enhance damage absorption.
Recently, the game’s developers have even revealed that this game will not feature a battle pass unlike most other competitive player-versus-player (PVP) shooters out there. They are even planning to support this game with multiple post-launch content updates. These updates will bring new Freerunners, maps, modes and more.
Visually, this game looks stunning, with detailed character animations and beautifully designed levels. This is all thanks to Firewalk Studios’ decision to use Unreal Engine 5 to develop the Concord game.
For those interested in this upcoming shooter, the Concord game will be released on 23 August 2024. Pre-orders are already open and those who choose to pay for it before launch will get access to its beta as well as the Monarch Pack.
It will launch for PlayStation 5 and PC, just like Helldivers 2. This means gamers will not have to wait years for it to release on PC, as they had to do with Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut. Sony seems to be focusing on releasing as many games as a service (GAAS) titles as they can.
Even though Concord will be a premium game, it will still operate as a GAAS.
Additionally, gamers in the US can pre-order a new limited edition DualSense controller themed around the live-service shooter on the PlayStation Direct storefront.
Despite being a multiplayer shooter, Concord has pretty high system requirements, it makes sense, given the fact that it looks so good. Let’s take a look at the hardware it will take to run this game.
Minimum (1080p, 60 fps, low graphics preset)
Recommended (1080p, 60 fps, medium graphics preset)
Performance (1440p, 60 fps, high graphics preset)
Ultra (4K, 60 fps, ultra graphics preset)
Besides these, it will require at least 30GB to install Concord on your PC. It’s no doubt a very demanding game, here’s hoping the developers have optimised it well enough.
