Did you know that Auchentoshan is the only distillery in Scotland to triple distill its whisky? Yes, it’s not a common practice, but triple distillation creates whisky that’s really smooth and delicate, great for a nightcap. Auchentoshan has long been our poison of choice, and last month we introduced it to the AUGUSTMAN A-Listers.
Hosted by our associate editor Farhan Shah and alcohol writer Hannah Choo, the session was held at Altimate, a popular nightclub at the heart of the business district. It began with an introduction of our adopted charity for this year, Global Clinic, with canapés and refreshing Auchentoshan and ale cocktails passed around. Jamey Merkel, its brand ambassador, then took charge, giving the low-down on age-vs no-age statement whiskies, and then teaching the guys to nose and savour different drams, including the 21 Year Old, Three Wood and Virgin Oak. The Three Wood was a clear crowd favourite. After a fun pop quiz, the party proceeded to 1-Altitude to mingle over more whisky. Great company, good tipple and a killer view of the city, we can’t think of a nicer way to end an evening.
