When we think of regional watch retail giants Sincere Fine Watches, we think of exceptional brands, we think of exclusivity and rarity, and we think of human-to-human relationships. Sincere Fine Watches (Sincere) has exclusively brought in independent luxury watch brands such as Christiaan van der Klaauw, Czapek & Cie., Franck Muller, Lang & Heyne, Moritz Grossmann, Moser & Cie., Zenith and Laurent Ferrier. Over the years, they have built a community of discerning buyers by building, developing and maintaining close relations with their clients as well as their partner brands. Their impressive customer service goes beyond what happens in the shop floor: after-sales care at Sincere Fine Watches is some of the best in the watch retail world.

The great relationships it has built over the years is perhaps best manifested in the tribute timepieces that Sincere’s partner brands have crafted to commemorate the retailer’s 70th anniversary. These unique limited editions are specially made to reflect the close ties Sincere Fine Watches has with the brands that they retail. One of them is Laurent Ferrier’s exquisite Grand Sport Tourbillon Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition.

The Laurent Ferrier Grand Sport Tourbillon Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition is a timepiece that takes inspiration from racing cars in its architecture – the curves are aerodynamic and the dimensions of the watch (44mm diameter, 13.4mm thickness) are robust but ergonomic. This calls back to the brand’s history, as its co-founders were both race car drivers.

It is an immediately striking piece, with an 18K red-gold case that contrasts beautifully with its petrol green guilloché dial. With the texturing from the expert guilloché work, the dial reacts to light in a way that evokes the dynamic nature of the ocean floor. This is designed to represent the waves of the South China Sea, which borders Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand – countries in which Sincere has established a strong retail presence in.  The distinctive shade of teal with a black gradient, a first from Laurent Ferrier, also symbolises vitality and resilience, two qualities widely associated with Sincere over its 70-year history.

The above colours are given a further sense of luxury with the ruthenium-treated white gold hands and indices. The spear-shaped hands and drop-shaped indices are coated with white Super-Luminova, perfectly complementing the finely snailed small seconds display. The cushion-shaped bezel, with a circular satin finish, offers contrasting mirror-polished sides. Similarly, the tonneau-shaped middle case also features multiple finishes, with vertical satin on the top, horizontal satin on its profile, and contrasting mirror-polished sides. The overall effect is both elegance and legibility.

Further adding to the sense of occasion, Sincere’s 70th anniversary commemorative logo, is engraved on the sapphire crystal case back.

Further deepening its status as a watch that combines both elegance and sportiness, the Grand Sport Tourbillon Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition comes in a matching petrol green Nubuck strap – another brand first – to add a touch of ruggedness. Lined with Alcantara (derived from the Arabic word for ‘bridge’), a soft yet durable suede-like textile, the strap is a significant component of a watch that feels as good as it looks.

Powering this masterpiece is the LF619.01 movement, known for its double-spiral tourbillon cage which can be seen through the sapphire glass case back. The movement showcases a long-blade ratchet pawl – the metal piece that holds the spring in a barrel. Besides its hand-finished bassinage for aesthetic appeal, the ratchet pawl also produces a soft and melodious murmur when the watch is being wound. The movement is further accentuated with horizontal satin brushing and a ruthenium treatment, underscoring the sporty character of this timepiece.

The Grand Sport Tourbillon, combined with this unique guilloche dial for the very first time, is the perfect expression of art and refinement. It is thus very fitting that this timepiece sits as one of the 12 Sincere Platinum Jubilee Editions, to commemorate Sincere’s 70th anniversary celebrations. A Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) prize winner in 2023 for Best Tourbillon (for the Grand Sport Tourbillon Pursuit), it is one of Laurent Ferrier’s most coveted and most respected pieces. To refit one for the Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition speaks volumes of the mutual respect the retailer and the watchmaker have for one another.

The Laurent Ferrier Grand Sport Tourbillon Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition embodies the art of traditional watchmaking techniques, elevated by the modernity and elegance of this new combination of case and dial. This limited edition of only 12 pieces has a retail selling price of $328,000 and will be exclusively available at all Sincere Fine Watches Boutiques.
