July 2010: Meeting under “Green Lantern’s light”
Known for his light-based superhuman abilities, it is ironic how Green Lantern was cast away to darkness almost immediately after its release. A commercial and critical failure, this member of the Justice League did little justice to his comic book roots through the flick.
However, one positive outcome of this movie is the meet-cute of Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively on the sets of Green Lantern. Both of them were involved with different people at that point — Reynolds was married to Scarlett Johansson, while Lively was dating her Gossip Girl co-actor Penn Badgley.

Between 1790 and 1810, nine cabins were built at the aforementioned site to confine the slaves. Naturally, celebrating an occasion like a wedding in such a venue was considered distasteful and offensive.

January 2015: James’ birth and the start of the banter chapter
The next chapter in Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds’ relationship came with the birth of their eldest daughter in December 2014. However, the news was made public by a source close to the couple in early January 2015.
During an interview on The Today Show in March 2015, Reynolds revealed the name of his and Lively’s daughter. “It’s James. Everyone knows. I didn’t want to be the first guy screaming it out to the media,” he said.
Around the same time, Reynolds mentioned about the change in his priorities. “I used to say to (Blake), ‘I would take a bullet for you. Now this was more of a promotional stunt than a troll by Blake Lively. As a part of her promotional campaign for the film A Simple Favor, Lively unfollowed a host of accounts from her Instagram account. This included the account of her husband.
However, Reynolds was served the perfect opportunity to troll his wife, and he made full use of it. When asked about his wife’s social media activity, the silver screen’s Green Lantern said that it “definitely stings. It’s a terrible way to find out that I’ve been kicked out of the house, to be honest.”
February 2019: Not impressed by how Pikachu sounds
Yes, his voice didn’t sound like a traditional Pikachu saying “pika pika”, but Reynolds sounded exactly like himself in the 2019 film Pokémon Detective Pikachu. And that, in his wife’s opinion, was unimpressive. Blake Lively took to Twitter to rag Ryan Reynolds about his job in the film. “I mean, he didn’t even change his voice. In an appreciation post for her husband on Instagram, Lively shared a picture of her and Reynolds sharing a kiss. The carousel also had a video where she said, “Tell me Deadpool is married to a millennial girl in real life without telling me.” The reel then takes us through several jokes made by the Marvel character in the franchise which involves millennial pop culture references.
